We Don't Eat Our Pets

The other day my kids and I saw a video on facebook of a bunch of little pigs.  We were discussing how cute they were, and I said I wished we could get one.  The kids agreed they would love to have one also.  Then, my son says, "If we had a pig, would we eat it when it died?"  I was like, what?  Wait a minute.  First of all, my kids do not eat ham or bacon anyway.  I cannot even get them to eat beef unless it is in the form of a hamburger patty, or chicken, unless it is a nugget.  I said, "does grandpa eat his birds when they die?  No, we don't eat any pets when they die.  We wouldn't eat a pet pig either."  Then my son says, "well we don't eat our dogs because we are not in China."  I do not even know where he got this from, but I was crying from laughing so hard.
